Sheryl Phillips, MPH, RD, CDE, CDN
Sheryl Phillips is currently the Registered Dietitian for the New York Weight Management Programs. She is also a Certified Diabetes Educator, a member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, the Greater New York Dietetic Asso-ciation and the American Association of Diabetes Educa-tors. Her accomplishments include: Bachelor of Science Degree In Dietetics at Messiah College, Grantham, PA in May of1986 and then joined the Nutrition Team at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn. After completing her Nutrition Internship in August 1993, she became a Regis-tered Dietitian and continued on the staff of Long Island College Hospital as a hospital Dietitian until 1997. Ms. Phillips, then worked as a Food Service Director for several years, during which time she completed a Masters Degree in Public Health at Brooklyn College.
Her interest in obesity developed gradually throughout her career. This led to the focus of her Master’s Thesis which was “The Cost of Obesity Management”. For the past several years she has been working exclusively with Bariatric Patients. First, as the Program Manager at the Comprehensive Health and Obesity Management Program, and the Diabetes Self Man-agement Programs at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center; then later as the Program Coordinator/Nutritionist of the New York Center for Obesity & Gastroparesis at Peninsula Hospital. She completed the Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management, Levels 1 & 2.
In July of 2011 she founded Weight Loss & Nutrition Solutions PC in Brooklyn New York.
